Klaipėdos dramos teatras

Klaipėda Drama Theatre is the city's oldest theatre, located on the Theatre Square at Teatro g. 2, in the centre of the Old Town. The neoclassical building went up in 1857; over its history it burned down, was rebuilt and reconstructed several times. After a reconstruction completed in 2015 it became one of the most modern theatres in the Baltic region: the stage is operated automatically and can move together with the stalls, and new sound and lighting equipment was installed. The repertoire consists of drama productions by Lithuanian and foreign directors, and the theatre also hosts festivals and touring shows. The building houses a theatre museum presenting the institution's past.
