Giruliai Beach is a sandy beach in Giruliai, in the northern part of Klaipėda, where pine forest and a botanical-zoological reserve come close to the sea. Giruliai can be reached from the city centre by bike, bus or train, and a paved path leads through the dunes to the shore. The beach is spacious and popular with families: there are cafés, a lifeguard station, changing cabins and a wooden viewing platform for watching the sunset.
The history of the place goes back to the 19th century, when the dunes were planted with pines and bathing establishments and summer houses followed. Nearby are the Olando Kepurė cliff, the remains of the Memel-Nord battery and the old Karklė village cemetery.
