Smiltynė Beach is a beach on the Curonian Spit across the lagoon, reached by ferry from Klaipėda. From the Old Ferry terminal, footpaths and cycle paths lead through the pine forest to the sea. It is one of the few Lithuanian beaches awarded the Blue Flag: clean sand, sports and play areas, changing cabins, toilets, Wi-Fi, a first-aid post and lifeguards, and the shore is adapted for visitors with limited mobility.
Nearby are the Lithuanian Sea Museum by the Southern Pier, the national park visitor centre, the ship Dubingiai, early 20th-century villas and a fisherman's homestead. From the New Ferry terminal, buses run to Juodkrantė, Preila and Nida.
