Playwright Gintaras Grajauskas says of the play *No Trespassing*: “It’s like a kind of road movie—about a journey through life and beyond.”
The play, which contains autobiographical elements, centers on the Poet. At the beginning, as a very young man, he travels through time and familiar situations, gradually maturing and trying to understand his purpose in the world. He is fully aware of the tragicomic nature of his existence, but there is little he can do to change it—in this peculiar “road movie” called life, he is merely one of the characters. Grotesque, farce, and self-irony—these are his three eternal companions. On his journey, the Poet meets a multitude of people—from the elderly Beekeeper, who was a famous poet in his youth, to the almost metaphysical Cleaner. At times, one might suspect that this young poet is encountering himself, transformed in old age into a calm, wise beekeeper. The Poet is also accompanied by a peculiar ancient chorus—eerie creatures who refer to themselves in ever-changing ways. Perhaps this is no longer a journey of the living, but of the dead—through the realm between life and death?
The performance features songs by the bands “Rokfeleriai” (“Monday Blues”) and “Kontrabanda” (“Terorozauro Blues”).
It was named Production of the Year at the 2017 “Padėkos kaukė” Awards. For his role as the Beekeeper in this production and as Captain Adolf in A. Strindberg’s play *The Father* (directed by Mara Kimelė), actor Darius Meškauskas won the Actor of the Year award.
In 2017, actress Eglė Jackaitė was nominated for the “Golden Stage Cross” for her supporting role as the Official in this production.
