Some melodies take on a life of their own—they are heard on theater stages, in movies, and in concert halls, and become recognizable around the world. The name of British singer Sarah Brightman is inextricably linked to them. In her repertoire, the operatic tradition blends with musical theater, film scores, and popular music, and this combination has made her one of the most prominent figures in the classical crossover genre. Over the course of four decades in her career, she has helped popularize this fusion of genres worldwide. In this program, soprano Indrė Anankaitė’s voice will be accompanied by Nijolė Baranauskaitė on piano and Tomas Ramančiūnas on cello. The program will feature music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Ennio Morricone, Francesco Sartori, James Horner, and other composers. Melodies from *The Phantom of the Opera*, *Nella Fantasia*, and *Time to Say Goodbye* will evoke different stages of Brightman’s creative journey. This chamber music program, arranged for voice, piano, and cello, will reveal the melodic power, theatricality, and emotional openness of these songs, allowing the audience to hear this familiar repertoire in a new light.
