The stories of English author Donald Bissett have returned to the Keistuolių Theater. The play “Tip Top,” directed by Aidas Giniotis, continues a theater tradition that began back in 1989 and has nurtured several generations of audiences. Short and filled with the most unexpected oddities, D. Bisset’s tales transform on the Keistuolių Theater stage into events of extraordinary playfulness and musicality that reshape our usual view of the world and set the imagination free. In the production “Tip Top,” the theater’s youngest actors combine theater, music, and play.
“D. Bisset’s work is inseparable from the very beginnings of the Keistuolių Theater. Alongside her work, the theater’s identity, its playful acting style, and a certain form of performance took shape. This is the school of thought behind our children’s productions. The plays “Next Time,” “Upside Down,” “Pyp Pyp,” and “Hop” are like the Keistuolių Theater’s calling card. “Every generation of actors and audiences has had its own ‘Bisseta,’ so I’m eagerly awaiting the younger generation’s production,” says the play’s director, Aidas Giniotis.
