The Dolphinarium is a branch of the Lithuanian Sea Museum in Smiltynė on the Curonian Spit. Since 1994 it has been home to Black Sea bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions, which take part in performances for visitors. Between 2010 and 2013 the dolphinarium was rebuilt, gaining considerably larger pools and a more modern auditorium. A dolphin-assisted therapy centre has operated here since 2003. The dolphinarium is part of a wider museum complex that also includes an aquarium, exhibitions, the ship-museum M52 Sūduvis and the Baltic Sea animal rehabilitation centre. Tickets can be bought online. It suits families with children, school groups and anyone interested in marine animals and coastal nature.
