Memel Automuseum

Memel Automuseum occupies the former Klaipėda gas factory on Liepų street, a building from 1861 that has been restored and adapted for the museum. At its heart is a rare collection of automobiles built before 1920, from the years when the car industry was only taking shape. A separate section covers gas production technology and the history of the factory itself in the city. Visitors are guided through the halls with accounts of each exhibit's story, technical features and cultural meaning. The museum takes small groups by prior arrangement and offers gift vouchers, and the industrial heritage space also serves as a setting for cultural events and concerts. It suits motoring history enthusiasts, families and admirers of industrial heritage.
