The “Best Cannes Lions Ads” program has already become a tradition for anyone seeking top-quality entertainment and inspiration. This year’s program features the return of humor to advertising, reflections on artificial intelligence, and—for the first time on the big screen—a Golden Lion-winning commercial filmed in Lithuania.
Ads are usually the part of a movie screening that makes you wish it would end. However, once a year, the tables turn—advertisements that audiences actually look forward to return to movie theaters. Over the past 18 years, more than 115,000 viewers have seen this program.
What can you expect from the program? From among the more than 20,000 entries submitted to the Cannes Lions festival, the best and most memorable works have been selected for the Lithuanian audience. One of this year’s most prominent trends is the return of humor to advertising. This year, humor has become not only a creative tool but also the hero of the ad itself. According to Cannes Lions data, AI was used in the creation of 60 percent of the festival’s entries, but one of the funniest ads in the program—created for the “Claude” platform—makes fun of AI’s own blunders. Ironically, this award-winning ad was created by humans. Another standout feature of the program is the premiere in Lithuania of “Kein Projekt ohne Drama,” for which the Lithuanian advertising and production agency “Magic” won a “Golden Lion.” The commercial was filmed in Lithuania.
