The Heart of a Beast

James Belmont, a 30-year veteran of the U.S. Special Forces, sets out into the Alaskan wilderness with his retired service dog, Odin. After a catastrophic plane crash, they find themselves stranded in a remote and unforgiving landscape, and as they fight for survival, they are forced to rely on each other and find their way back. Faced with the harsh challenges of the wilderness, Belmont and Odin are forced to push beyond their limits in order to survive. As they journey through the harsh landscape, they encounter numerous obstacles that test and further strengthen their bond. Director David Ayer describes the film as a “love story” between a man and his dog—a story of loyalty, resilience, and the special bond between two companions who have overcome countless trials together.
