They wanted to become rap stars. So they pretended to be Americans.
Two best friends from Scotland—Gavin and Billy—dream of becoming rap stars. They’re talented, they make music, and they believe in themselves. But the music industry isn’t interested in their talent: their Scottish accents ruin everything.
So the guys decide to do something crazy: reinvent themselves. They become Silibil N’ Brains—a party-loving rap duo supposedly from California. New names, new backstories, American accents, and one big secret: they’re actually two guys from Dundee.
Unbelievable, but the plan works! The deception lands them a record deal, appearances on MTV, and a dream that’s finally starting to come true. But the more successful they become, the more they have to lie, and maintaining their fabricated identities grows increasingly difficult. Ultimately, the guys must decide: how much of themselves are they willing to lose to get everything they’ve ever wanted?
