DADDY WAS A MILKMAN & THE “AURA” DANCE THEATER
“ALL ABOUT LOVE”
A slow song. She’s standing at the edge of the dance floor. You long to approach her, but you wait, frozen in place, for a few more seconds—until you gather your courage.
For the first time, you’re SO CLOSE. And the scent of her hair—it drives you wild. The world ceases to exist for a moment.
On February 14, the new performance “ALL ABOUT LOVE” by DADDY WAS A MILKMAN and the AURA Dance Theater is coming to Klaipėda. Audiences in seven Lithuanian cities will be the first to see this exclusive performance.
Daddy Was A Milkman’s songs will take on the energy of dance in this performance. Live music and AURA’s choreography will create a cohesive, cinematic narrative on stage, and “Breathe In,” “Seasons,” “Gera tyloj,” and other songs beloved by listeners will take on new dimensions.
“All About Love” will tell stories of love at various stages of life—from the first tentative steps and the thrill of new love to intimacy, trials, self-love, and a more mature partnership. As the years go by, our relationship with familiar songs changes—they reveal things you might not have even noticed before.
DADDY WAS A MILKMAN will explore love through songs, personal stories, and conversations with the audience, while AURA will add another language to the mix—movement. Lithuania’s first professional contemporary dance theater has been creating works in Kaunas for more than four decades, and today its troupe includes dancers from various countries around the world.
The choreography for “All About Love” will be created by AURA’s choreographer ROBERT PRZYBYL together with the theater’s dancers. The cast will feature Marianna Lo Coco, Susanna Maggio, Ester Bega, Victor Gil Méndez, Hector Valdovinos, Pepe Jaimes, Leandro Manzo, Otis Gilchrist Rikken, Tadas Almantas, and Joe Zhu.
