Two sisters set out on a journey that seems bleak at first glance: carrying their mother’s urn, they travel to their father’s grave. The journey turns into a series of mishaps: they get a ride on a bus, get “stuck” in a bar, dance, and lose themselves in memories… The sisters, who had shown almost no interest in each other’s lives throughout their lives, become the closest of friends after their mother’s death…
For very sad reasons, this incredible journey—filled with criminal twists—at times also becomes an occasion for philosophical conversation…
Pierre Notte’s play “Two Ladies Heading North” It was a huge success in France among both audiences and theater critics (premiered in 2008 at La Pépinière-Théâtre in Paris). Critics named it the best play of the year.
