"The Way Home"

Description
DAINOTAS VARNAS WITH THE BAND
“THE ROAD HOME”
My dear friends, last year we traveled around the world together in just over a hundred minutes, and I must thank you once again—I could only have dreamed of such traveling companions. This year, I’d like to invite you once again to join me on a musical journey—one that’s even better and more exciting. I say this with confidence, because it will be entirely LITHUANIAN! Yes, my path this time leads home, and we’ll journey there through the pages of our rich and wonderfully beautiful musical history.
This year is special to me—it has changed my whole life. Since starting a family, I feel as though I’ve put down even deeper roots in my homeland. And my desire to sing and share high-quality Lithuanian music with you is stronger than ever.
I hope that on this new musical journey, you will once again join me as my companions. I’m really looking forward to it.
Sincerely yours, Dainotas Varnas
With a carefully curated, 100-minute LITHUANIAN program titled “The Road Home,” the singer will visit as many as 18 cities in Lithuania. The tour begins in December 2026 and ends in January 2027.
For some, the “road home” means visiting their parents for Christmas; for others, it means returning to their native neighborhood, city, or country. For still others, “the road home” means a spiritual journey of self-discovery.
Dainotas Varnas will guide us through the history of Lithuanian music. “It won’t be boring,” promises the singer, who is putting the finishing touches on his new LITHUANIAN program.
The very beginning of the concert will definitely surprise you. Dainotas Varnas has prepared a piece that is very well-known and personally very dear to the singer himself. And we can safely bet a million—you definitely won’t guess what that piece is.
After the introduction, we’ll begin our musical journey in the 1970s. We’ll remember our legendary pop stars Stasys Povilaitis and Antanas Čapas. Both singers are no longer with us, but the songs they performed are etched in gold in the history of Lithuanian music. “I’ve had the chance to sing alongside these remarkable people. I cherish these memories deeply, and I’ll share them with you,” says Dainotas Varnas.
As we journey through the decades, we’ll encounter poet Stasys Baltakis, composer Laimis Vilkončius, the band “Studija,” as well as singer Irena Starošaitė and many other figures who have shaped the history of Lithuanian popular music, whose works Dainotas Varnas will reinterpret in his own unique way.
We can look forward to more than a few newly discovered gems. Already last year, during his “Around the World in 100 Minutes” concerts, Dainotas Varnas demonstrated an exceptionally wide vocal range, a sensitive and original approach to music, and respect for the works he performs.
The singer will be accompanied by a band, and the performance will feature contemporary technologies that push the boundaries of music; the singer also promises to draw on his unique a cappella singing experience. “I promise that on stage I’ll do something that no other soloist in Lithuania has ever done before,” he teased.
We’ll also be treated to interesting personal stories and Dainotas Varnas’s signature humor, which seamlessly weave together different pieces into a cohesive program. The journey through the years will certainly fly by.
Of course, Dainotas Varnas’s own original compositions will also be performed, though the singer is not yet ready to reveal the exact setlist. But we can already be certain of one thing—among them will definitely be “Kelias namo” (The Way Home). It’s the title track of the entire tour, the song that started it all.
