Paris, 1835. Twenty-five-year-old Frédéric Chopin (Eryk Kulm) is the darling of the Parisian salons, the aristocracy, and the King of France. No significant event takes place without this genius. Chopin spends his time on nighttime wanderings and after-concert parties: he radiates energy and skillfully masks his terminal illness with humor. Although time is running out inexorably, Frédéric doesn’t slow down—he composes masterpieces (often on commission) and, pressed by financial obligations, gives piano lessons. His friends admire him as a composer, and women are drawn to him.
